Anning is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, China, located approximately 28 kilometers southwest of Kunming city proper. Situated on the eastern edge of the Central Yunnan Plateau, it is known for its picturesque location along the Tanglang River and its cultural subdistrict, Lianran. Anning was upgraded from a county to a county-level city in 1995.
