I’m arriving next month and want to avoid delays at the registration office.
What paperwork is required to register my address in Nuremberg?

When you arrive, you must register your residence (Anmeldung) at the local registration office within two weeks. Bring a valid passport or ID, a completed registration form, and a rental contract or confirmation from your landlord (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung). If you’re moving in with family, you’ll need proof of relationship for each member. After registration, you will receive a confirmation certificate (Meldebescheinigung), which you’ll need for opening a bank account, obtaining health insurance and applying for a residence permit if required. The city’s website provides downloadable forms and details on office hours; many offices now allow online appointment booking to reduce waiting times.
A starting point only — it may be incomplete or out of date. Check official sources for anything important, and add your own answer if you know Nuremberg.
