I have a background in engineering and want to know where opportunities lie.
What are the main industries hiring in Coimbatore?
1 Answer
Coimbatore is known for its strong manufacturing base, especially in textiles, engineering equipment, and automotive components. The city also hosts a growing information‑technology sector, with many firms setting up development centers. In addition, there is demand for professionals in education, healthcare, and retail due to the expanding urban population. Job seekers typically use online job portals, professional networking sites, and local recruitment agencies to find openings. The city’s chamber of commerce and industry publications also list current vacancies and upcoming hiring fairs, which can be useful for engineers looking for positions.
