Melaghar is a small town and a Municipal Council located in the Sipahijala district of Tripura, India, approximately 50 km from the capital city of Agartala. It is known for its tranquil climate for most of the year, though summers can be hot, dry, and humid, with interspersed rains and thunderstorms. Melaghar is a neighbor to Sonamura and is situated about 10 km from the Bangladesh International border. The town is a significant cultural hub, particularly famous for its Durga Puja and Ratha Yatra festivals, the latter being one of the oldest and largest fairs in Tripura. People are drawn to Melaghar for its blend of natural beauty and historical significance, most notably the Neermahal, a stunning water palace located in the middle of Rudrasagar Lake.
