I have two kids and need to know about academic quality and extracurricular options.
How are the public schools rated in Alexandria?
1 Answer
Public education in Alexandria is administered by the parish school board, which oversees several elementary, middle, and high schools. Test scores and graduation rates tend to hover around state averages, with some schools performing better in specific programs such as STEM or the arts. Extracurricular activities like sports, band, and clubs are commonly offered, but availability can differ by school. For the most current performance data, consult the state department of education’s school report cards and the parish school board’s website, which provide detailed metrics and information on program offerings.
