How are public schools rated in Austin?

Austin’s public schools are administered by the local school district, which provides performance reports and rating tools on its website. Overall, the district includes a mix of high‑performing schools and those that are working to improve test scores and graduation rates. Parents typically review school accountability ratings, student‑to‑teacher ratios, and extracurricular offerings before deciding. For the most current data, consult the district’s school‑report cards and state education department dashboards, and consider visiting campuses during open house events.
