We have kids entering middle school and want good education options.
How do the public schools in Schenectady rank academically?
1 Answer
Schenectady’s public schools are overseen by a citywide district that publishes performance metrics, including state test scores and graduation rates, on its website. While the district offers a range of programs—from traditional curricula to specialized magnet tracks—overall academic performance tends to be around the state average. Prospective families should review the district’s annual report cards, visit school open houses, and consult statewide school rating tools for the most recent data. Additionally, the district website lists enrollment procedures, transportation options, and extracurricular offerings.
